"How interesting can a band be without a vocalist and only two tap instruments and drums? I might have asked the same question if I'd never seen these guys. The answer is that they go well beyond interesting and into awesome!" - Fred Trafton, Gibraltar Encyclopedia of Progressive Rock
Description: Experimental, instrumental grooves that span the entire range of emotions; jazzy, funky, progressive sounds that showcase the musician’s talents. They are truly the Kings of Improv and are heavy influenced by the likes of King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, not to mention tons of others! Bio: Minefield is an instrumental rock trio formed by Rick Read (Nervewerks), Mark Cook (99 names of god) and Ross Young (Nervewerks). The trio formed in 2001 to write original music with the unique instrumentation of Chapman Stick, Warr guitar, and V-drums. The music combines overlapping lines, complex textures and rhythms that create a hypnotic listening experience. Minefield has played Arts Festivals in Dallas & Fort Worth throughout the last 2 years, as well as many Prog Fest shows at the Ridglea Theater. For Booking, contact Mark Cook: frippysaurus@yahoo.com or Rick Read: R3read@aol.com
